When assays go hilariously wrong

You ever run an assay and get results that make you question your entire existence? Last week, I had a sample that read as ‘Batman’ instead of ‘negative’ on an infectious disease test. If only lab compliance allowed for a follow-up with the Joker to confirm.

I’ve had tests show up with some seriously questionable results too. Just the other week, a sample labeled ‘unicorn’ made me wonder if I was in the wrong lab! I guess a follow-up with Batman would be a bit more useful than the compliance audits we always have to deal.
