I’ve had better luck exporting analyzer scattergrams to PDF and then ‘rasterizing to 300 dpi’ before sharing; it strips any hidden text layers and wipes barcodes the export sometimes sneaks in. For smears, I toggle off the camera’s OSD and use a neutral mask over the slide label area, then spot-check at 200% for stray QR patterns. It’s one extra step, but avoids surprises when a viewer re-exposes vector text.
Quick tip: I run smear pics through ImageMagick (-strip), shave about 60 px off the edges, then add a thin black border so any corner UI IDs are truly gone, and I spot-check with zbarimg to catch sneaky barcodes. I’m with @JulesK on exporting to PDF, but watch for ICC/XMP leftovers that can carry device info — re-saving as PNG usually flattens it. PPE for pixels.
